Danny Kalb, one of the world’s finest folk and blues guitarists, will play a rare concert at 8 pm. on Sunday night at the The Living Room at 154 Ludlow Street in New York City.
"Nobody plays like Dan…,”said Al Kooper; "You really got to me,”added Muddy Waters; and “always a powerful guitarist,” said Bob Dylan.
Kalb will play from his new album, I’m Gonna Live The Life I Sing, a record he said he always wanted to make. A protege of the folk great Dave Van Ronk, Kalb has played with them all, including Muddy Waters and John Lee Hooker. He is one of the survivors of the Greenwich Village folk scene of the 1960s.
He’s the real thing, and there are few chances anymore to experience in person the work of a genuine guitar master. Be there if at all possible.
